Let me start with a confession, I am a hopeless romantic but I am not a fan of Valentines day because I can't remember the last time it ever went to plan or at least how I expected it to. I guess I watch too many romantic movies and secretly hope for the impossible and usually the impossible is exactly that, impossible.
I think Valentines day is about showing the ones that you love that they are appreciated. Creating time in your schedules to stop, for just a minute and share the love. It's sad to think that for some men and women that's the only time their partners actually do something romantically inclined.
All though a day about sharing the love, mind blowing figures reveal that while men spend more on the gifts they buy for their partners and women spend far less on the gifts and more time on what they are going to look like. We are busy finding that jaw dropping dress that reminds our partners why they fell for us in the first place, making sure our hair and makeup is flawless but most importantly making sure romance is in the air.
So what ever you decide to do have a Happy Valentines Day
FACT OF THE DAY
DID YOU KNOW:
A study of 5,000 adults found showed men will spend a staggering £611million on presents for their other halves.
Meanwhile, women will spend just £269 million.
